Sector Applications for Zambia
This lesson introduces participants to the core principles of the circular economy and explores how these principles are being applied across Zambia to create sustainable businesses and resilient value chains. Participants will gain an understanding of the transition from the traditional linear economy to circular business models that prioritize resource efficiency, waste reduction, reuse, repair, recycling, and regeneration.
Through practical examples, sector-specific discussions, and interactive exercises, participants will identify circular economy opportunities within their industries, understand key waste streams and value chain actors, and explore how circular solutions can unlock new markets and business opportunities. The session will also examine successful Zambian circular economy enterprises, highlighting practical lessons that can be adapted to participants’ own businesses.
By the end of the lesson, participants will have mapped a circular value chain relevant to their sector, identified the most suitable GreenScale Zambia funding opportunity for their business, and developed the sector-specific component of their GreenScale Zambia concept note, providing a strong foundation for the remainder of the BootCamp.
